Everything You Need to Know About Workers’ Compensation

People spend a lot of time at work every day. If they get hurt when they working in a

the company, or industry, what should they depend on to maintain their rights and loss, and who should help them? Workers’ compensation can help people deal with most problems. Also, if an American worker gets hurt in different counties, and between nations they have different rules, what should they do about it? Through this paper, people will learn what workers’ compensation is and how it applies to people’s lives in different situations.

Workers’ compensation is also called work injury compensation. It is a social welfare program through which employers bear some of the cost of their employees’ work-related injuries and occupational diseases (Thomason et al). According to Gregory P Guyton, author of “A Brief History of Workers’ Compensation,” compensation for bodily injury begins about 2050 B.C., from ancient Sumeria in fertile crescent outlines the law of Ur-Nammu, King of the city-state of Ur. The law of Ur provided monetary compensation for specific injuries to workers’ body parts, including fractures. In 1750 B.C., Hammurabi provided a similar set of rewards for specific injuries and their implied permanent impairments (the loss of function of body part).
